The album that started it all. The story begins with a guy who never sang on a stage until college. A Broadcast graduate from Western Washington University and Freelance Videographer, Greg was shooting footage at a large Christian music festival when the stage manager recognized him. “Hey, you’re the guy that sings at my church.” Greg tells the story in his own words…

“He then proceeded to tell the rest of his stage crew about the times I sang at church and casually suggested that they slip me out on stage between acts. I though it was a joke. Then, as the afternoon was ending and the more popular acts were coming on, I set up my camera on stage to catch some of the more eventful moments of the festival. Then, with the festival crescendo-ing toward the top acts of the day… the Stage Manager grabbed me and said… “I have a spot for you to fill in 5 minutes. You want to do it?” How could I resist… I grabbed my harmonica from the glove box of my car and came up with an old blues Gospel tune called “Lay Down This World.” The audience reaction was one of the most memorable and impactful moments of my life.”

That reaction caught the attention of the event Managers and others in the Christian music industry. As a result, Greg was officially added to the artist lineup for the next several festivals. It was also the big break the brought about the production of Greg’s debut demo album, Hook, Line & Singer.

The album was recorded and co-produced in Vancouver B.C. by the multi talented Roy Salmond at Whitewater Studios. Rene Worst shows his versatility from the melodic fretless bass of “Seasons to Start,” to the slap happy funk riffs of “I’m Satisfied.”
